Camfed collects Big Lottery grant

Camfed’s work with young women received a significant boost this summer when the Big Lottery Fund awarded a generous grant of £355,829 to support Camfed’s expanding programme in Tanzania. With these new funds, Camfed will be able to help 16,500 girls in the impoverished Iringa Region of Tanzania to complete primary school and go on to secondary school. (more…)

Class of 2010 Appeal - Support tomorrow’s leaders today

In June, best-selling author and journalist Allison Pearson launched Camfed’s Class of 2010 Appeal to raise support for 2,000 girls in Africa to complete secondary school in 2010. Since then, Camfed’s supporters have pledged an astonishing £65,000 over the next four years to help some of the poorest girls in Africa. (more…)

Mothers support girls’ education across Zimbabwe

Over the last two years, a network of eighty Mothers’ Support Groups has sprung up across Zimbabwe to help some of the poorest children in these communities to go to school. With Camfed’s support and encouragement, these remarkable women are working across 14 districts to provide a safety net of financial and practical support to thousands of children. (more…)
