Ringing with confidence and exuberance, these are the words of 20-year-old Abigail from rural Zambia. Abigail’s delight in her achievements comes from her realization of what might have been if she had not gone to school and begun a journey out of poverty.

Abigail’s parents both died when she was still a child. Her grandmother took her in, but with all the love she could provide, she could not afford to send Abigail to school.

With Camfed’s support, Abigail has completed high school and is now at the top of her class in business school. She is a role model in her former school and she is inspiring girls in her village.
